I rank it right up there with Miss Fisher, Morse, Lewis, Marple, Poirot, and Endeavor --- the finest entertainment -- sophisticated, intelligent, insightful and yet keeping the harsh real world at a great remove. Midsomer Murders Season show reviews & Metacritic score: Tom Barnaby takes a bus trip to Brighton with a Midsomer group to investigate a a shady land deal involving the Mayor of Causton. Helping him in … Homicide, blackmail, greed, and betrayal: just a taste of what goes on behind the well-trimmed hedges of Midsomer County in this deliciously sinister series. I love true crime and mysteries but Midsomer Murders has the feeling of something like Murder She Wrote. Classic mysteries, nothing too heavy or thought provoking, just fun entertaining stories, with creative murders and characters. Indeed, charm is a word one could overuse in a review of "Midsomer Murders" because charm the series has in abundance, and consistency. The cozy villages of Midsomer County reveal their most sinister secrets in these contemporary British television mysteries. Playing the video isn't supported on this device/operating system version.

PLEASE NOTE: Series 1-17 includes ALL of the episodes from U.S. Sets 1-26.

One of my new favorites, entertaining and easy. Based on the novels by Caroline Graham, modern master of the English village mystery, the series stars John Nettles (Bergerac) as the unflappable Detective Chief Inspector Barnaby with Daniel Casey (The Wingless Bird) as his eager young assistant.
