Amongst various Episode VIII: The Last Jedi rumours that have been flying around in recent months, Snoke… Another shocking reveal was that Rey, who up until that point, was said to have come from unknown origins, was actually Palpatine's granddaughter. Snoke had been manipulating and directing Kylo Ren's actions throughout the events of The Force Awakens and The Last Jedi. Palpatine reveals Snoke was his creation, a puppet to manipulate until he was ready to return and in one stasis chamber, we see several aborted Snoke clones bundled together. Star Wars 9 Theory: Snoke Was Actually Palpatine All Along. The implication is that Snoke was a clone created by Palpatine to do Palpatine’s bidding. Snoke even says that Palpatine knew about him (but not his true strength) when he was still a chancellor. In The Last Jedi novelization, Leia also mentioned that she knew of Snoke before he started to corrupt her son, which suggests that could have been a known quantity like Palpatine.
